Gallery -
Frazetta's, Business Rt 209. E. Stroudsburg . Opens in May for the season. You cannot just "walk in" to the Gallery. Call first. The art of Frank Frazetta. A rare style of art but once seen not forgotten. Unusual to say the least. This, by the way, is World Class Art. You may not "like" it. But you have to appreciate the impact this has made on our culture. The style has influenced some of our greatest cinema (Conan The Barbarian, Star Wars, and almost every effort of the genera). Steve Spielberg, George Lucus and many many other Directors LOVE Frank Frazetta's work (and own it!)

Local Music Band -
Nickel 56, Written up with great reviews this young, hot band has already made their stamp in the Poconos.

Arts Series -
Stroudsburg Art Walk. Every first Saturday of the month on Main Street Stroudsburg galleries, shops and food. Now You'd think that in a little town like Stroudsburg, "art" would be boring. But, Yikes, there's not a yawn in town when you visit to view our local gallaries.

Arts Festival -
Peter's Valley Arts Festival. Held in Sept., Peter's Valley is an art education center that is devoted to the teaching of craft as an art form. There are seven studio areas active at The Valley: blacksmithing, ceramics, fiber, fine metals, photography, weaving and woodworking. A full workshop schedule in all media is offered throughout the spring, summer, and fall.

Post First Saturday Destination -
Sarah St. Grille, In the summer time, dine upstairs on the deck or catch a hot band ranging from alternative to rock or jazz on the first floor. Expect a heavy crowd dancing in front of the stage during the live entertainment. During winter, have dinner, (The Penne ala Vodka is remarkable) sushi, or just a beer then play billiards in the back rooms with friends while listening to the entertainment.

Theater, Movies -
Foxmoor, The nicest movie theater in the Poconos. First run films, small intimate theaters.

Runner up: Pocono Cinema on North Courtland Street in East Stroudsburg. Some First one movies, some "art house" flicks in small intimate theaters. Always a surprise to see what's on the screen.

Theater, Playhouse -
Shawnee Playhouse, River Road, Shawnee. Today, in the town of Shawnee, is one of the most popular playhouses in the region. It carries the tradition of popular entertainment in Shawnee, beginning with Fred Waring and his Pennsylvanians, who orchestrated big band concerts of yesteryear, and who once lived in the town. Well actually, beginning with the singing Lennie Lenape Indians who once sang from atop of Eagle rock just north of the village and carried on by Fred and his group and Jacki Gleason.
